A perennial, clump-forming grass native to south-eastern Australia, Poa labillardierei features dense, upright green tussocks and fine leaves, flowering mainly in spring and summer. It grows in grasslands, open woodlands, and coastal areas, preferring well-drained soils and full sun to partial shade.
Common Tussock-grass is highly valued in revegetation projects and native gardens for its ability to stabilise soil, provide habitat for native fauna, and add structure and resilience to Australian landscapes.
