A perennial, tufted grass native to south-eastern Australia, Rytidosperma fulvum forms dense tussocks with fine, reddish-brown foliage and slender flowering stems. It grows in grasslands, open woodlands, and well-drained soils, thriving in full sun.

Copper Awned Wallaby grass is valued in native gardens and revegetation projects for its drought tolerance, ability to stabilise soil, and provision of habitat and food for native fauna, contributing to biodiversity in Australian landscapes.
