A perennial, tufted grass native to south-eastern Australia, Rytidosperma racemosum forms dense clumps with fine, arching leaves and slender flowering stems that produce small, clustered seed heads. It grows in grasslands, open woodlands, and well-drained soils, thriving in full sun.

Slender Wallaby Grass is valued in native gardens and revegetation projects for its drought tolerance, soil-stabilising roots, and ability to provide habitat and food for native fauna, contributing to the biodiversity of Australian landscapes.
